A well reputed Family business in Sri Lanka with a rich history spanning over 50 years in the Export and Import Trade, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Real Estate sectors seeks to diversify into the Hospitality and Leisure sector by opening a 60 Bed Motel in the heart of Colombo Fort within its own 4 storied property and catering primarily to budget travelers and backpacker tourists from around the World.
The Motel which is in its final stages of development is ready for occupation in January 2014 and we seek an experienced, dynamic, and innovative person to join our team as a Resident Manager with at least 5 years experience in the Hospitality sector in a similar capacity to overlook and manage the Motel and be responsible for its day-to-day operations as well as continued growth
The Resident manager will be responsible for the following tasks:
– Managing the reservation staff and streamlining check-in, check-out procedures while setting the standard for efficient and friendly service at all times
– Maintaining a consistent and exceptional level of cleanliness and comfort of our guests at all times and managing the housekeeping, kitchen, cleaning and maintenance staff
– Promptly handling all customer complaints and concerns with professionalism and courtesy
– Liaising with travel agents, in—bound tour operators and other stakeholders in the industry to drive business towards the Motel
– Managing all third party vendors and suppliers and assuring a smooth day-to-day operation of the Motel
– Maintaining the Motel’s presence on-line via booking sites as well as Social Media outlets
– All staff-training and handling of staff issues
– Regular reporting to the Board of Directors on progress and concerns
– Being innovative and creative in marketing the Motel to the world.
An extremely attractive remuneration package which is well above market standards awaits the right candidate along with a profit sharing arrangement for meeting set targets. The Manager will report exclusively to the Board of Directors only and will be free to select his own team to work towards the success of the Motel. The Resident manager will be expected to work long hours and manage stress well.
