Habitat for Humanity Sri Lanka is a registered non-governmental Christian organization whose mission is to provide simple, decent, affordable housing to people in need.
Vacancies exist for the following positions:
Internship in the Resource Development and Public Relations Department (2 positions)
Duration: At least 6 months
Have you successfully completed your A levels and awaiting to go to university, or are you currently a university student? Is your future degree in Arts, Sociology, International Relations, Community Development, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications/Media, Law or a related field? Are you passionate to assist in the uplifting of the under privileged in Sri Lanka while learning the workings of an International NGO?
Do you:
– Have a comprehensive working knowledge of MS office
– Have good communication skills in English & Sinhala/Tamil
– Have excellent self management skills and are a team player
– Enjoy writing and have excellent writing skills in English (this will be tested)
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
– Assist in the writing of newsletter articles, annual reports & project proposals
– Assist in donor liaison & communication
– Visit our global village & local volunteer builds; take interviews and write reports
– Participate in monitoring of projects as assigned including going for field visits
– Assist in the development of visibility strategies & promotion materials
– Other duties as assigned by the RD & PR manager.
Knowledge of web design, publishing applications and photography will be considered an advantage.
A certificate and reference letter will be awarded upon completion of the internship
