We have a vacancy for a:
Group Procurement Manager
We are seeking for a honest and experienced person who is capable of procuring the highest quality merchandise for the Mount Lavinia Hotel Group at the lowest possible cost.
Core responsibilities will include:
• Forecast present needs and procurement of all items to the Hotel in accordance with laid down policies and procedures.
• Maintain and develop several suppliers for each product at varying costs and qualities..
• Work closely with other departments (especially the Kitchen) in order to get regular feedback on issues such as quality and time bar periods of consumer goods supplied.
• Negotiating with suppliers on current market trends and maintain a good rapport with such suppliers for future use.
• Oversee the supply chain management and maintain proper control over the systems which are in operation.
• Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.
• Forecast market and/or price trends and their impact on future activities.
• Estimate price and product availability, inventory usage and develop policies / procedures.
The ideal candidates should:
• possess good negotiation skills, networking and a successful track record of delivering results in the areas of cost reduction, service levels, quality and inventory levels.
• be conversant in English, and computer literate.
• possess good inter-personal skills and public relations.
• have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a star class hotel.
• possess excellent analytical and problems-solving skills.
• provide leadership to a committed team.
