We are currently looking for qualified and experienced project staff for a donor funded Rural Integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene project (RIWASH) in the Jaffna District

Operations Manager (Riwash)

Location: Based in Jaffna with travel to the targeted field areas

Job Profile

The RIWASH III, Operations Manager will be responsible to provide leadership to the project team on all matters pertaining to the implementation, management and administration of all aspects of the project and ensure its effectiveness in meeting the designated goals and objectives of the project and the target population in line with donor requirements and World Vision Lanka policies and procedures. The position will facilitate cooperation and collaboration with the relevant stakeholders and ensure maximum professionalism and capacity to support the mandate of the RIWASH III Project.

He/She will provide concrete and specific plans for efficient and effective allocation of human,financial and capital resources required to implement the project, Organize District operations to achieve designed goals by allocating funds effectively, providing technical support, establishing effective communications systems, staffing positions and building capacity and supporting the Colombo office with timely reporting and communications.

Education, Knowledge and Experience:

– Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualifications in Community Development/Business Administration or related discipline
– Minimum 05 years relevant experience, including project management, staffing and financial management with at least 02 years in a supervisory role
– Preference will be given to persons who have proven managerial experience handling large
– Rural Water Projects and related community development projects
– A strategic, clear and conceptual thinker who can convert ideas and concepts into organisationl goals
– Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation with good technical knowledge of Rural Integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (RIWASH) and related development projects
– Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain links with the local government and other relevant line ministries and institutional stakeholders
– Excellent written and oral English communication skills with evidence of report writing and presentation of complex information in reports
– Demonstrated team building and leadership skills with ability to function well in a cross-cultural environment
– Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, database development and management
– Good knowledge of the local languages -Tamil and/or Sinhala
