Lab Support Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
– He will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of complex scientific equipment within our laboratory environment.
– The lab support engineer shall help troubleshoot and repair lab equipment that malfunctions or breaks down. Maintenance of the infrastructure. inventory and storage devices of a laboratory is also the responsibility of the lab support engineer.
– He is required to gain an expert knowledge in every single piece of scientific equipment within a lab within a short space of time. if any item requires repair or replacement. it will be up to the lab support engineer to handle the problem and ensure the equipment is back in use again as soon as possible.
– When the lab must be configured to support a complex new experiment. scientists will consult the lab support engineer for help. The lab support engineer is also responsible for other aspects of a lab including keeping an inventory of supplies, replacement parts and diagnostic equipment.
Required qualifications and experience:
– Possess a Mechanical / Electrical engineering degree from a recognized university or institute
– Sound knowledge of electronics and automation
– Minimum 2-3 years of relevant industry experience
– Should be flexible and ability to handle multiple tasks
– The ideal candidate will be a qualified Engineer with multidisciplinary knowledge/interest with the ability to handle all tasks with minimum supervision. He will be required to demonstrate this aspect of ability in the application submitted.
