We are currently looking for qualified and experienced project staff for a donor funded Rural Integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene project (RIWASH) in the Jaffna District

Grant Accountant (Riwash)

Location: Based in Jaffna with travel to the targeted field areas

Job Profile

The Grant Accountant will overlook the grant accounting and budgetary functions of the RIWASH III project in Jaffna, ensuring high level of financial accountability and integrity in accordance with World Vision Lanka (VWL) financial policies and procedures and the donor requirements in areas such as cost controlling, budgeting, cash management, recording, documentation, auditing & financial reporting.

He/She will also train and mentor project staff, ensure proper maintenance of accounting systems and data and be responsible for the timely submission of professional project finance reports while ensuring the efficient and effective management of projects funds to achieve the given goals and objectives.

Education, Knowledge and Experience:

– Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business Administration or fully/part qualified from recognized accounting body (ICASL C1MA,ACCA, CPA)
– Minimum 05 years relevant experience in the Development/Non—Profit sector with at least 02 year at supervisory level
– Demonstrated technical skills in finance management, with ability to organize and present financial information in line with accepted accounting principles and WVL policies and guidelines.
– High level of computer skills, including MS Office, and hands on experience in a computerized accounting software and database packages
– Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written) and knowledge of Tamil and/or Sinhala
– Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a multi-cultural environment
