Main Responsibilities:

– Design and develop reports using Jaspersoft and HQL
– Interrogate and manipulate the database to develop reports
– Work with company’s standards, procedures and software development methodologies and documentation
– Writes documentation to describe own developed solutions as well as previous developed solutions that are assigned to be enhanced or modified, document with the objective of increasing the quality of finished solutions
– Understand and document current state business processes (prepare process maps, descriptions, business rules, risks etc.)
– Design future state business processes
– Analyse & capture business requirements and do gap fit analysis
– Prepare functional requirement and design documents
– Participate in functional design reviews
– Document and clarify business requirements and produce details specifications
– Perform product validation testing of new functionality during User Acceptance Testing
– Conduct business requirements review with the client and prepare requirements analyses and system/configuration design related to required government accounting functions
– Develop acceptance test plans and conduct acceptance testing of the configured FreeBalance software/system with the client
– Transfer knowledge to the client related to change management and correct use of the FreeBalance products/solution as a ‘Super User’
– Provide input to product management on functional matters and future product requirements based on feedback from the client
– Report progress on all assigned activity and deliverables to the Project Manager

Education and Experience:

– Applicants must be graduated, enrolled or working towards one of the following program(s): Computer Science; Computer Application; Information Technology
– Familiar with web based applications
– Solid knowledge of Java based programming
– 5+ years of experience in Jaspersoft and HQL (a MUST)
– Familiar with accounting systems or ERP systems would be considered an asset
– Able to read, analyze and interpret technical information and documents
– Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently on projects, while being supervised both on site and off site by remote team managers
– Able to meet tight deadlines and multitask
– Exceptional written and oral communications skills in English
– Must have a professional demeanor

This is a full-time position based in Colombo.
