Post Of Director – External Relations
The Director External Relations should have a personal and professional commitment to excellence and integrity.
Reporting to the Country Director, he/she will be responsible for identifying knowledge marketing objectives and implementing strategies, assigning priorities and key performance indicators to communication and fundraising activities. He/she will be required to act as CARE’s senior public representative and assist the organisation to continue improving its country and regional priorities and associated funding opportunities.
He/she will be responsible to establish and maintain effective relationships with the Government Officials, UN-NGO cluster network and relevant parties to foster a productive environment in the region. The Director will also work closely with existing partner organizations and explore possibilities working with new private sector / partner organizations. He/she will be able to contribute to the long term programs. Previous experience working in Emergency Response situations is an asset.
Qualifications:-
– The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 05 years related experience in development is preferred.
– Applicants should possess strong communication, analytical, media/public relations, risk analysis, programming, management, and interpersonal skills as well as excellent writing skills in English. Computer literacy and proficiency in Tamil and/or Sinhala are required.
– He/she should demonstrate commitment to gender, equality and diversity and previous experience working in
Emergency Response situations will be a definite advantage.
The position will be based in Colombo with occasional field travel.
Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka and the appointment will be on renewable 12 month contract basis.
