UI Engineer
The company Proporta.com, a leading UK based design and manufacture company of brilliant and stylish Smartphone, Tablet, MP3 Player ,Netbook/Laptop,PDA cases and accessories. A largely informal atmosphere which could sanction be described as fun.
The Role This is a varied role working with a development team on HTML, CSS and JS related designs as well as website marketing artwork. This involves designs for adverts (banners and newsletters) as well as sites, micro-sites and blogs.
You will be required to bring to life designs of all kinds to the web with a strong focus on Magento theming for desktop, tablet and mobile. You will also need to supply designs for email templates and other forms of digital marketing.
Qualifications:
Although not required, a degree in graphic design would be advantageous — e.g. UI engineering, Graphic design
Over 1 -2 years experience working in the role or similar.(Please submit a portfolio of your work so far including links )
Skills:
• Knowledge of grids, typography, hierarchy and information flow.
• An ability to sketch, create a spectrum of solutions, collaborate, iterate, validate and fail fast.
• CSS2/CSS3 and SASS knowledge
• Java script and JS Frameworks
• HTMLS and responsive site design
• Magento theming would be beneficial
• Photoshop/Illustrator experience
• Experience from creating and working on lots of ideas even if they are just personal projects.
You will:
• Be self-motivated and driven to learn about technologies.
• Be willing to jump in, learn, make mistakes and learn some more
• A love for your craft. A point of view and a constant urge to respond to design around you and make it better.
• Ability to inspire, tell stories and shape behavior with the designs you create.
