Trainee GIS Assistant (Colombo 02)

GENESIIS Software (www.qenesiis.com) is the exclusive reseller of DigitalGlobe/Airbus satellite maps and imagery in Sri Lanka and Maldives. DigitalGlobe/Airbus is the world leader in Remote Sensing and Satellite Imagery products such as WorldView & GeoEye. GENESIIS is searching for a dynamic young person with qualifications in GIS/Remote Sensing Technologies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Performing Remote Sensing analyses using high resolution satellite imagery. Consulting with Remote Sensing scientists, surveyors, cartographers or Engineers to determine project needs.
2. Investigating new GIS applications.
3. Undertaking data analyses and data conversion.
4. Developing proposals on Remote Sensing and GIS applications.
Qualifications:
* Undergraduates who are following subjects such as Engineering, Geography, GIS, Cartography, Surveying, Geology, Computer science/studies, Town planning, Information Technology.
Skills:
* Strong skills in GIS & RS packages (ArcGIS, ERDAS Imaging, ENVI)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* “Hands-on” experience in handling Remote Sensing and GIS projects
* Good IT and presentation skills
* Ability to communicate with all level of professionals
Working Hours:
* Part Time basis and should attend for work minimum 2-3 days per week.
