Vacancy for a Project Coordinator
Women in Post-War Healing
Candidate Profile:-
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for National Peace Council’s (NPC) project on the theme of Women in Post-War Healing. The project will target women rights/ development-centric organisations in each of the identified districts and is expected to result in knowledgeable and committed women who lobby for inclusion of their perspective on reconciliation.
The Project Coordinator will be supervised by the Programme Manager. She will work in collaboration with a small team to manage and implement the project.
Specific duties and responsibilities would include inter alia:
• Provide leadership to the project implementation process, including regular assessment and review of the impact in implementing a regular planning cycle
• Be able to provide content for training and project delivery.
• Travel extensively to all parts of the country and ensure that project activities are carried out
Qualifications:
• Professional & academic qualifications in social sciences, law or related field and a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Project Management at senior level.
• Demonstrated skills and practice in project/programme management, Log Frame Analysis, preparing concept notes / proposals, and monitoring and evaluation.
• Proficiency in English and in Tamil/ Sinhala and in use of MS package, e-mail and internet.
• Experience in similar work with women’s networks would be an advantage. Preference will be given to female applicants as this is a women’s project
Remuneration commensurate with the position is negotiable.
The National Peace Council is a Non Governmental organization, which exists to support programmes of work for Peace, Justice and Reconciliation in Sri Lanka.
