Full stack Web Developer

We are a fully funded start—up based in Sri Lanka getting ready to launch in early 2014. As we are entering
the development phase, we are looking for a keen full stack web developer/administrator who can collaborate and actively tackle technology challenges with us. This will not be a typical Monday to Friday, 9-5 job rather an intriguing journey we’ll embark on together. You will be our go to tech guy who will take on any new tech challenge and find a solution with no worries.

About the role:

As our website is built by a third party company, initially you’ll help us drive the development. You’ll
manage the installation, implementation, configuration, security and administration of the website. You’ll
also help us with integrating third party tools such as Google analytics and social media. Building clean and polished responsive ad-hoc web pages and applications using clean and well-organized code on the go will
be your secondary responsibility.

Initially we are looking to employ someone on a part-time/contract basis which will lead to a full—time role
by March next year. You will have the flexibility to work from home. The work will commence in mid-December and you need to be available for 15-20 hours a week initially. The salary is negotiable and we will offer the right money for the right person.

Generally you will possess:

1. A good understanding of the concepts and a working set of skills in general web development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, (SS, PHP, UI/UX, responsive design and CMS, etc…
2. Advanced skills and experience in Linux/UNIX operating system (preferably in LAMP).
3. The ability to install and configure technologies such as Apache, MYSQL, Postgresql, etc.
4. Hands on skills to deal with any ad-hoc tech duties and solve problems fast and efficiently.

*It will be a bonus if you have any exposure to third party API integration and SEO practices.

To be suitable for this role, you’ll essentially have 2-3 years of technology, development and industry
experience as a web developer/designer/administrator.

A portfolio will be required prior to the interview.

Most importantly you need to show case your ability and confidence to be able to fully undertake this role
as described above.

You need to be an honest and trustworthy person. You’ll also have exceptional time management, problem solving, teamwork and strong communication skills.
