Senior Database Engineer

The role of Senior Database Engineer is to take the leadership to establish the Data Engineering discipline starting from leading a team by taking the challenges of designing, writing & optimizing queries to improve the performance of relational and non-relational databases of high volumes. The ideal candidate should be interested and willing to start the career as a Database Engineer pursuing to a Consultant role obtaining the exposure in analytics, data warehousing & mining and Big Data.

Requirements:

• Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent
• At least 1-2 year of hands-on industry experience in application development and a good understanding of different application architectures.
• Additional 3 years of industry experience in a similar capacity or thorough knowledge & confidence on SQL, query optimization, tuning techniques & tools and ability to read performance execution plan.
• Good understanding in Index tuning and optimization in high volume production environment.
• Experience Data warehousing, ETL and OLAP Cube development.
• Hands on experience in BI tools like Microsoft SSIS, SSAS & SSRS.
• Experience in NoSQL databases.
• Experience in big data applications.
• Strong knowledge in data warehousing, mining & analytics
• Good knowledge in database design, development and optimizing techniques of SQL stored procedures in large scale high volume database applications.
• Interest in working with different database tools like MS SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2 , PostgreSQL, MongoDB and understanding an application from a pure database interactions perspective.
• Experience in working with Linux, Unix operating systems and cloud hosting.
• Very good analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the design and development of optimized complex SQL queries and stored procedures for a production system.
• Performing unit, integration and performance testing on newly developed and existing components.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving performance issues during the software development lifecycle as well as the production system.
• Design, Develop and maintaining Data Warehouse and Analytical Cube objects with best use of enterprise ETL tools.
• Interpret Business requirements into technical requirements by closely working with foreign clients.
• Interface directly with staff members of Development, Project Management and Quality Assurance
