Matalan, one of the UK’s leading clothing and homeware retailers offering high quality fashion and homeware, is opening an office in Colombo shortly and is looking for dynamic and energetic individuals to join its Quality
Assurance Team as:

Quality Control Supervisor X 1

Job role: – to manage the daily running of the QC department ensuring all deliveries are checked and all necessary relevant documentation completed in a manner. English speaking is essential.

Key Responsibilities:- Advising direct reports on product quality standards ensuring that correct products are put on hold, Ensure products on hold are dealt with and pending decisions are chased in a timely manner, liaise with Head Office when referring on hold product while obtaining a timely response where appropriate, Produce weekly documentation, including on hold and productivity reports and Guide direct reports to training programme content, reviewing progress of staff training against competencies.

Quality Control Inspectors x 2

Job role: – To check all incoming product quality, packaging, bar codes and box ends against Gold Seals where appropriate, and communicate any product failures to relevant parties. English speaking preferred.

Key Responsibilities:- To inspect product ensuring it meets company specification and standards, aided by Web PDM and the Buying department, Check product identification against purchased orders, Complete
relevant report documentation identifying actions where required, To alert product / delivery failures to relevant parties, Communicating actions on held goods to the Distribution Centre where appropriate, Ensure inspection
and cycle of referral takes place within strict deadlines, ensuring efficient product flow through the DC and Undertake in – house processing as required

For the above positions, the applicants should have passed G.C.E. Ordinary Level with minimum of 05 and 03 years experience respectively in the apparel manufacturing industry in the similar capacity and should possess
good communication and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Preference will be given to those who have professional qualification in quality control from a recognized Institute and exposure to swimwear, jackets, Shorts, Skirts, Bottoms, Denims and Lingerie will be a distinct
advantage.
