Purchasing Manager (Sri Lanka)

Established in 1971, Skychef Servair is the leading catering business in Seychelles, servicing the major airlines, private flights, as well as the hospital and private clients. The company employs 190 people, many of whom have been with the business for many years, and produces over 3500 meals per day. We are looking for hardworking, motivated and committed candidates to fill in the following post:
Purchasing Manager
Principal duties and responsibilities:
• Forecasting levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant on check stock levels
• Reduce material/food cost of the company with proper planning and effective strategies
• Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
• Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities
• Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and government authorities
• Process payments and invoices in coordination with Finance Department
• Present reports on cost reduction plans, actual achievements on periodical basis
• Proper maintenance of documentation, contracts & supporting documents for audit trail
• Training and supervising the work of other team members
Requirements:
• Previous experience in similar capacity for local & overseas procurement in relation to food & beverage industry (Experience in hotel or airline catering industry is preferable)
• A degree or diploma in International trade, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification
• Analytical skills, excellent negotiating and networking ability
• Leadership skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• Excellent computer skills and proficient in working with Inventory Management Systems, MS-Excel, MS-Word and other MS Office packages
• Dynamic, reliable and responsible person with a true sense of accuracy and ingenuity
• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and work under pressure
