JB Apparel — Lanka Garment Manufacturing Company Limited, a subsidiary of Jafferjee Brothers Group of Companies, has been in operations for the past Four decades, housing three manufacturing facilities with a direct workforce over 1500.
We are looking for a dynamic, result oriented professional with a proven track record for a position of Commercial Manager. The incumbent, plans, organizes and carries out all activities in relation to the clearance of import cargo and the dispatch of export cargo whilst complying with relevant procedures to facilitate the smooth functioning of the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities will include;
– Handling all activities relating to imports & exports in an efficient manner, strictly adhering to time schedules and complying with relevant procedures.
– Adhering to country regulations and performing duties to ensure that all inbound cargo and outbound cargo are smoothly cleared and delivered respectively.
– Providing accurate, complete and timely commercial budgets and financial statements to ensure that all financial resources are efficiently utilised.
– Maintain close relationship with other departments and proactively arrange the shipping documentation to achieve zero demurrages.
– Ensuring that the best deals are obtained for in-freight, transportation and services by negotiating with the relevant parties.
– Establishing and sustaining close relationship with the BOI, Customs, and Ports Authority to meet all legal requirements and representing the organization when required.
– Ensuring that all records are maintained accurately whilst making sure that commercial documents and reports are prepared on time.
Requirements:
– Degree or a professional qualifications relevant to transport, logistics and warehouse management.
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar capacity.
– Knowledge of BOI, Customs, SLPA procedures and regulations relating to import and export
– Good Communication and PR Skills
– Good command of English and computer literacy.
The selected candidate would be provided with a remuneration package in par with industry standards.
