The Organization:

Berendina Microfinance Institute (Gte) Ltd. (BMI) is part of the Berendina Group which is a partnership of people who are determined to eliminate poverty in rural Sri Lanka through innovative best practices of microfinance, small business/ employment strategies as well as by providing social protection to the most vulnerable people, such as the handicapped and elderly. The group consists of Berendina Microfinance Institute (Gte) Ltd, Berendina Development Services (Gte) Ltd. Berendina Micro Investments Company Ltd and Berendina Employment Center (Gte) Ltd.

Currently, Berendina microfinance operation has 21 branches spread across the Sri Lanka with around 70,000 clients and a total loan outstanding over Rs: 1.7 Billion with a repayment rate of 99% and provides loans at the lowest interest rate than any private sector microfinance organizations. In addition to credit we provide Enterprise Development Services (EDS) to improve skills & knowledge of clients for existing business ventures and new enterprise initiatives.

Micro Finance Officers (MFOs) — Tamil & Sinhala

Anuradhapura, Nuwara Eliva, Batticaloa S Trincomalee Districts

Job Role:

MFO is the key position in field level lending & recovery operations and responsible for identifying and organizing potential borrowers, achieving disbursement & recovery targets while maintaining an excellent recovery performance ensuring highest loan portfolio quality within a well-structured operational system. MFO is expected to maintain highest ethical standards and disciplined working culture with maintaining good interpersonal relationships.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Ideal candidate should pass A/L in Commerce/Science/Math streams. Should possess a good numerical, communication & inter personnel skills
• Experience in micro finance operation will be an added advantage but not essential. Male & Female candidates who have not experiences in micro finance also encourage to apply
• Should have a valid Motor Cycle riding license.
• Working in Sinhala language is essential for Anuradhapura and Nuwaraeliya districs and working in Tamil language is essential for Nuwaraeliya, Batticaloa and Trincomalee districts.
• Working knowledge in both languages is an added qualification.
• Age below 35 years.

Salary:

Negotiable and market based attractive remuneration package will be offered but depending on qualifications and experience.
