Berendina Development Services (BDS) provides various kinds of assistance such as housing, Wat/San activities, infrastructure development, Livelihoods, Inland Fisheries development and psychosocial works to economically active and inactive poorest people in the selected rural and plantation areas. Berendina Employment Centre commenced its activities with the objective of finding suitable and productive employment opportunities for youth in rural and plantation areas as well as to assist employers to find suitable employees at a minimal cost BEC’s notable achievement is that it has successfully recruited over 12,000 personnel to various reputed companies. In addition, BEC has provided vocational training scholarships for over 7,000 youth. Berendina Microfinance Institute is a leading microfinance institution focusing on the poor with a clientele over 60,000 with an outstanding loan portfolio of Rs. 1.3 Billion.
Livelihood Development Officer (02 Positions Kegalle and Nuwara Eliya)
Job Profile:
Livelihoods Development Officer (LHDO) is primarily responsible for the overall implementation of livelihoods and other BDS interventions at field level in assigned geographical locations within the given time frame. LHDO should work closely with the BDS- District Manager to ensure that the interventions promoted are consistent with BDS Project plan and Objectives.
Qualification and Requirements:
• An agriculture diploma holder with at least one year experience, preferably in development sector. Preference will be given to the candidates who have similar experience.
• Computer literacy and Fluency in English will be added advantage
• Has valid motorbike riding licence and ability to ride a motorbike
• Age: Below 35 years
Salary:
Negotiable and market based attractive remuneration package will be offered depending on qualifications and experience.
