Database Administrator
This executive level position is available in the IT Department of our Colombo terminal operation. The position will report to both the Terminal Operating System (TOS)— M&S Manager and the Infrastructure Manager– IT.
The Role:
The role will be mainly responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity and the security of SQL and ORACLE database systems operating within CICT. The role will also involve in the planning and development of the database systems as well as troubleshooting any Issues arising in day to day operation.
The Person:
Qualifications, Experience and other Attributes:
• Higher Diploma /Bachelor’s Degree in IT and/or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Should posses Oracle certified professional qualifications (OCP) and/or MS certifications (MCDBA) in database administration.
• Minimum 3 years work experience in development and administration of databases in SQL and ORACLE platforms. Familiarity with ITSM & IT project management would be an added advantage.
• Thorough understanding & previous experience in writing SQL, Scripting, RDBMS, OOP concepts, SPs, SSIS (SQL Server Integration Service), Profiling , optimization, fine-tuning , managing backups/DR mechanisms/triggers are necessities.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills with timely solution delivery.
• Good communications skills and an excellent team spirit with a positive attitude.
