SUMMIT Professional Services (Pvt) Ltd is a professional arm of PEAK Adventure Travel Group. PEAK operates in over 16 countries and own around 20 brands which are market leaders in US, UK and Australia. PEAK is head quartered in Melbourne but is partially owned by TUI travel (www.tuitravelplc.com), which is a Europe based travel giant. Supporting the PEAK structure SUMMIT provides the global IT and Finance support for PEAK by maintain and enhancing the Enterprise IT and Finance Systems.
About the Role
We are looking for a Middleware Developer in Joomla platforms to work in a supportive team which serves organizational requirements and contribute his support to technical design by participating in technical team discussions and documenting outcomes, leading to strong development, resulting in successful implementation.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
– Manage, develop and optimize middleware implementations
– Co-ordinating with themers to release templates and custom functionality
– Provide accurate progress updates
– Ensure all risks and issues are escalated to the project manager
– Preparing and maintaining documentation
Qualifications and Experience
– Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT
– Extensive understanding and experience in PHP Programming
– Good understanding of Object Oriented Programming
– Experience developing for Joomla
– Experience in the use of source control i.e. SVN or CVS or GIT
– Experience with LAMP environments including interacting with a shell interface
– Experience in developing from formal technical specifications and related documents
Added advantageous given to candidates who possess:
– Experience developing for Drupal 6 or 7
– Exposure to web analytics package
– Knowledge & practical application of eCommerce
Skills and Attributes:
– Excellent analytical skills and the ability to rapidly acquire new skills
– Strong verbal and written communication skills
– Flexibility and adaptability to work in a team environment with both technical and non-technical personnel
– Ability to adopt new workflows and development practices.
– Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
