Group Internal Auditor

The above position reports to the Managing Director and involves allocation of majority of time to work in our Factories Located in Badalgama . preference would be given to candidates located closer to Negombo.

Responsibilities:

– Plan the scope and objective of the audit; prepare appropriate audit programs for internal audit and special assignment
– Responsible for routine audit to ensure compliance with the company policies, internal control, procedure and applicable laws and regulations.
– Ensure timely completion of assignments in support of the annual audit plan.
– Conduct the audit so as to obtain, analyze .appraise information in evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of business controls and information systems. Identify and document business processes improvements for individual entities audited as appropriate.
– Liaise and work closely with External Auditors to discuss and obtain audit findings and working jointly with them in developing recommendations.
– Perform special review and audit, especially on technical, financial and management related matters, where applicable.
– Review and develop a risk mitigation policy and evaluate the company’s system of internal controls, processes, policies and mechanisms to ensure that they are adequate, effective and in compliance with corporate guidelines, regulatory principles, and industry standards.
– Identify control weaknesses, accounting/reporting deficiencies and/or business productivity/efficiency opportunities.
– Develop recommendations for improvement which can be effectively implemented by management given the existing business, control risks and other cost/benefit considerations.
– Prepare work papers that adequately document and sufficiently support findings and provide evidence of work performed.
– Communicate audit results in both written reports and verbal discussions with all levels of company management.
– Research and keep abreast of legislative issues, new audit regulations/trends and audit methodology.
– Ability to “add value” to business operations through identification and sharing of good practices.

Requirements:

– Member of CA Sri Lanka and a Certified Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors of Sri Lanka.
– Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of Internal Auditing in reputed manufacturing companies.
– Age below 45 years.
– Experience and exposure to Audit Work in any of the Top 3 Audit Firms in Sri Lanka.
– Good knowledge in MS office with Experience in computerized environment.
