Vacancy for a Research Assistant – Economics (Sri Lanka)

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce wishes to recruit a self-motivated individual to join its Economic Intelligence Unit as a Research Assistant
The ideal candidate should possess:
• Education background in economics (at least an undergraduate degree). Business economics may be particularly useful
• Preferably with work experience in economic research and analysis
• A curious research mind, clever at seeking out secondary information and distilling it
• Excellent English writing ability
• A good understanding of, and curiosity about, Sri Lankan and international economic and business issues
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Can take initiative and engage in new business/industry-relevant research topics, with guidance from the Chief Economist.
The job offers a unique opportunity to engage on private sector related research at the apex business chamber, to author and co-author new research insights, and to engage with top corporate leaders of Sri Lanka
