MAG is a not-for-profit organization clearing landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO) and other remnants of conflict for the benefit of communities worldwide.
MAG is seeking to recruit an individual with proven experience as our Finance Manager. This is an extremely challenging role within a very dynamic work environment and requires a very dedicated and motivated individual to be successful. To be considered for this post, you must have the ability to undertake the full financial management and control of the organization:
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
• Oversee all Financial Accounting matters, including maintenance of the general ledger, balance sheet, receipts, payments and payroll requirements.
• Oversee the production of the Country Monthly Management Information pack (including, but not limited to, Project Status Reports (BVA) and forecasts, Reconciliation reports including Balance Sheet, bank), together with appropriate financial/contract variance and risk reporting.
• Ensure that the programme delivers and accounts for all activities in accordance with National, Regional and Local taxation requirements (e.g. Income Tax, Social Security, VAT, Corporation Tax etc.).
• Ensure a high level of financial control is in place across all activities (in all locations), including the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures (tailored to the local context) to ensure compliance with Statutory, Donors and MAG HQ requirements.
Person Specifications:
• Can work under pressure and meet required timeframes.
• Ability to work in English, Tamil and Sinhala languages.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross cultural and international organization.
