SOMS A Wald Where Everyone Can See
Interested in working for a social enterprise that focuses on results? So Others May See Inc. (SOMS), since commencing formal operations in Sri Lanka in May, 2011, has screened over 660,000 school children in 7 districtwide programs for vision defects and provided all necessary follow up. Simultaneously, each day, on average, SOMS assists 20-25 needy adults with eye exams and free new, custom-fit eyeglasses. In 2014, SOMS launched a new service to lower-income populations (those who are not destitute and able to pay something but not the high retail prices in the current marketplace) to offer them quality but affordable eye aids. Any surplus generated from this service is used to expand the free services offered and to sustain operations in a self-financing model.
SOMS is currently recruiting for a Program Officer. If you are dynamic, have a passion for serving and an interest in this sector, and are able to travel and conduct eye clinics in all regions of the country, please review the attached JD outlining the specific duties and requirements of the position.
If you believe you have the skills and experience required for the position, please submit your CV with a cover letter.
(SOMS is a US non-profit organization registered with the NGO Secretariat in Sri Lanka with registration # 146205. More information about the organization and its work can be found at www.soms.org)
