This is a critical role within the organization and assumes a strategic role in the overall financial management of the organization. The Head of Finance will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the organization. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, costing, negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing.
Candidates must have excellent IT skills, including QuickBooks, and strong communication skills to ensure effective communication between suppliers and customers as well as the management. Must be able to work on own initiative and have supervisory skills.
Reports to: Director Chief Executive Officer
Key Accountabilities & Principal Responsibilities:
• Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization including the preparation of annual accounts, monthly financial reporting and reconciliations, and filing of taxes.
• Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and accounting consolidation and cash flow reporting.
• Provides leadership and take hands-on lead position in the development of continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
• Ensure credibility of Finance Department by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets vs actuals, financial trends and forecasts.
• Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with executive management and provide advice on the financial implications of business activities.
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with all applicable state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax.
• Serve as primary contact for bankers, auditors, insurance carriers and regulatory authorities.
