Project Accountant

Job Role:
– JO- Oversee implementation and ongoing adherence to LEADS Finance and Accounting procedures
– Track expenditures across various funding streams
– Draft weekly fund transfer requests and periodic finance and regulatory reports
– Oversee management of bank accounts according to company policies and procedures
– Track vendor/subcontractor invoice submission, review for compliance with cost principles and ensure prompt payment
– Coordinate spot checks, coordinate internal project audits, and support external project audits as required
– Ensure to maintain, manage, and protect confidential information
– Engage in effective and efficient communication with relevant managers and colleagues as required.
– Provide timely and accurate finance reports to management
QUALIFICATIONS:
– Formal higher education with aspects of Financial Accounting, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline
– 3 years’ experience preferably in an NGO sector
– Demonstrated knowledge in financial reporting
– Expert command and familiarity in Microsoft Excel, MS Office, and other relevant computer software, preferably SAGE.
– Excellent interpersonal, leadership and proven organizational skills required
– Excellent oral and written communication skills
