To steer our expanding operation. we seek a self-motivated and career-oriented person for the following position: Assistant Librarian
The Assistant Librarian will assist the Librarian in the management of our Library and Information Services.
Person Profile:
– The ideal candidate should have a degree and qualifications in Library & Information Science.
– Those with part qualifications in Library Science and willing to undergo further training to become a fill-fledged Librarian will be considered.
– Applicants should have a good command of the English language, excellent ICT skills and the ability to work independently.
Role Profile:
Key responsibilities of the Assistant Librarian include:
• Support the overall library operation to provide a professional service to all users
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the library collection
• Educate users on library policies and procedures
• Understand the needs of library users and assist in finding required materials
• Manage the circulation desk and conduct regular follow-up on overdue library loans
• Facilitate library audits and regular stock counts
• Prepare performance/usage reports
