Head of IT – Orange IT

Scope of the Role:

This position is for coordination between our Nawinna & Meegoda branches. The post-holder will follow IT developments closely and be able to see the scope for implementation of innovative approaches in a KPO/BPO business. In addition to sufficient technical understanding and skills, we are looking for an excellent forward thinking leader who interest in the KPO/BPO industry and also who can persuade non-technical people of the benefits and risks of different course of action.

The areas of responsibility include all IT systems. software, bespoke development CCTV/Access Control Systems, telephony. Power/IT Infrastructure. This will include (but may not be limited to) – personal means of working and communicating, remote access to systems from home or on the move, office systems, resources and customer management systems and bespoke developments for specific client or OIT projects. The continuity of systems provision and security of data held in or exchanged with our systems are of paramount importance.

Key Activities:

• Lead, manage. motivate and develop the IT Team so that they are valued by the organization and able to meet its expectations
• Create and keep under review an inspiring. compelling. forward looking and customer-centric vision for IT within OIT which will help us to win and deliver business and build our reputation further work with Senior Management Team and Company Owners to secure the necessary resources to put In place the actions to achieve that vision
• Work in a collaborative way with other senior staff to develop the IT vision and strategy and their translation into priorities and actions for the team and for others
• Schedule. control. and manage delivery of IT provision. support. hardware. and developments in a timely, cost effective. and efficient way. balancing the use of in house and external resources appropriately
• Directs operations in executing production tasks according to a documented schedule that meets or exceeds customer expectations
• Ensure IT developments and new software/hardware are fit for purpose and deliver the Intended benefits
• Ensure that IT systems and procedures promote data. Information security and business continuity in line with best practice and relevant external standards
• Make a significant contribution to the strategic direction. management and culture of the whole organization • Represents the IT function at customer meetings when appropriate

Job Purpose:

The overall objective of the Head of IT is to drive both IT strategy and day to day operational IT Service provision. ensuring that OIT staff and clients have suitable technical resources, applications, and support to achieve their objectives (on site and remotely) effectively, securely, and with a competitive and innovative edge compared with other KPO/BPO organizations. All of this is to be achieved within reasonable budget constraints

The Candidate – Person Specification; essential requirements and some that are desirable

Essential requirements:

• Energy, drive, enthusiasm and Ideas for Improving business results
• Senior IT leadership experience in a commercial environment. Including at least one IT management position
• A record of success In a project driven environment
• Proven track record in using development methodologies or recognized project management techniques to deliver successful IT developments
• Interest and ability in developing the staff within and beyond the team
• Ability to combine strategic vision with the achievement of demonstrable operational results for the business as well as ensuring robust and secure systems
• Able to communicate the realities and possibilities of IT to non-technical audiences Including Company Owners. managers and staff
• Experience of driving through effective change sensitive to the needs of the organization
• Demonstrates a level of aromas commensurate with a senior leadership role, while also being able to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.

Desirable Requirements:

• A Degree with a strong IT element and/or a recognized professional IT qualification
• Senior IT leadership experience in KPO/BPO organizations
• Should have sound knowledge and hands on experience person on Linux based systems.
• Experience in a professional services environment Including Information or research provision
