Gender Coordinator-Riwash 2

Location: Based in Nuwara Eliya with extensive travel

Job Profile:

The position is responsible to provide technical input and guidance in ensuring the Rural Integrated Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (RIWASH -2) project objectives are met in a gender sensitive manner. He/she will coordinate the implementation of the gender specific activities and ensure the incorporation of gender perspectives into the grant activities. He/She will also monitor project outcomes and provide technical direction to meet the project goals in a gender sensitive manner.

The Gender Coordinator will be required to build effective networks with relevant stakeholders including Govt authorities, local authorities and the local community to further gender objectives of the project.
Education.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Sociology/Gender or other relevant discipline
• Minimum 03 years’ experience in a similar capacity, with technical knowledge and experience in the use of gender assessment & training tools preferably in the NGO sector
• Experience in project management, including budget monitoring and facilitation skills will be an added advantage.
• Good Communication skills in English, both written and oral
• Working knowledge of Tamil is essential
• Adaptable, & flexible team player with a knack to influence and build relationships
• Competent in the use of the MS Office Suite
