CA Sri Lanka is currently seeking an outstanding result oriented and energetic team player to take on the below position.

Deputy Manager – Events

The role of the Deputy Manager – Events is to plan and execute events organized by CA Sri Lanka. The role is very dynamic, incorporating a wide variety of tasks and event types. Working to the strictest of deadlines, planning and project management will be common and required features to ensure the success of the events. The above position requires strong people-focused elements due to the close liaising with event coordinators, venues, sup-pliers, media, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Event concept creation, e.g. themes, purpose
• Liaising with speakers, performers, venues and other suppliers so that all elements for an event are booked, organized and accounted for.
• Project planning for each event, including preparation of event budgets for approval.
• Manage and oversee logistical arrangements of all events.
• Organizing material related to events in time and liaise with the relevant procurement sections.
• Ensuring all events are properly staffed.
• Lead the team and ensure event set up, etc is in order on day of the event.
• Reporting actual expenditure of events as a post event activity.
• Building skills and competencies for implementing new projects to market the CA Brand.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A recognized degree I full or part professional qualification from a local or foreign university / professional body preferably in the marketing discipline.
• 3- 4 years of relevant experience in event management
• An understanding of media and web will be an added advantage

Abilities and Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to handle and own multiple projects
• Should be an effective team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent administration and organizational skills
• Be pro-active and show initiative
• Strong IT skills including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to negotiate
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Should be willing to work on weekends, and at late evenings when necessary.
• The lob also requires occasional travelling out of Colombo.

The selected candidate will initially be offered a 1-year con., which could be further extended subject to satisfactory performance and will be compensated on par with industry standards based on qualifications and experience.
