Database Engineer Wanted
As a Database Engineer at Aeturnum, you will be responsible for engineering and administering database solutions for our clients while maintaining the performance, integrity and security. our clients use cutting edge technology, so you will also gain experience with NoSQL databases and Big Data Solutions.
Mandatory Skills:
– Strong SQL Experience
– Providing expert assistance in database tuning and troubleshooting to improve database performance
– Experience in working closely with project management, developers and client representatives in a highly competitive environment, to implement effective solutions for our clients.
– Experience with Oracle (11g, 10g, 9i) and MySQL database
– Experience and knowledge on Linux (RedHat, centOS) and Windows operating system is mandatory (other OS experience a plus)
Optional Skills: (will be added advantage)
– Experience in installing and maintaining database for Production, Staging and Test Environments
– MySQL Redundancy (Master/Slave, Master/Master configurations) and sharding
– Thorough knowledge on Database Security
– Hadoop
– Amazon AWS RDS
– Knowledge on Data Warehouse ETL (OWB/Pentaho/Informatica)
– Experience in installation and configuration of database clustering (for failover and load balancing)
– NoSQL databases (MangoDB, Cassandra)
– Experience with Solaris
– Oracle ATG Production Configuration
Education and Experience required
– Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Software Engineering or any other related degree
– Minimum of 2-3 years experience with Oracle and MySQL database
– Oracle Certifications (OCA, OCP) will be an added advantage
– Good communication skills, both written and verbal
– Linux certification will be an added advantage
