The Webmaster / Designer role works directly with head of marketing and content producers to maintain our international client’s online assets providing the users a high quality user experience.
Responsibilities ( will include but not limited to):
– Ensure design, navigation and browser compatibility (e.g. accessibility, fonts, formatting, icons, images, layout techniques, and modularization, including maintenance of template and image archives, etc.) of the websites for the purpose of meeting digital goals and presenting a consistent image across all online assets.
– Maintains constant oversight of the user experience and optimize layouts and content updates based on site usage metrics such as heat maps
– Optimize on-site content for maximum visibility and ranking in the major search engines; this includes HTML, site structure, page layout, site navigation and correction of any errors (404 pages, W3C etc.)
– Control naming conventions and linking conventions of web pages, images and multimedia files.
– Identify and implement innovative SEO strategies under the guidance of the marketing staff
– Debug issues that arise with the performance; including troubleshooting issues that arise relating to content publishing, link performance, order and payment flows, registration flows and transaction logs
– Provide thorough testing of website properties and applications [CMS, Google Analytics, survey and polling systems, ESP, social media accounts, video channels, domain names, etc.) which include the detection and investigation of problems, assessment and duplication of issues, reach-of impact, and scope Ensure the web servers, hardware and software are operating accurately.
– Configure web servers such as Apache.
– Serve as the server administrator.
Requirements:
– Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from an accredited college or university.
– Minimum 5 years experience working with website development and web design
– Knowhow in using relevant software applications (e.g. MS Office, Java, HTML authoring, SQL, MySQL, MySQL, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc.) ; planning and managing projects; web program scripting (ASP, Perl, PHP, JSP); preparing and maintaining accurate records; and various operating systems.
– Knowledge of CMS platforms like Joomla and Drupal
– Working knowledge of SEO
– Proven experience using graphics and web development tools including Photoshop, Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
– Experience with online / e-commerce analytics, mobile applications, online travel is a definite asset
– Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including fluency in English
