Facilities Manager
The British High Commission, Colombo is looking for Facilities Manager who would lead the Estate and maintenance teams, implementing estate strategy and policy thus ensuring the BHC compound and residential properties comply with the required Health, Safety and Security standards and procedures .
Key responsibilities:
• To ensure the British High Commission compound and owned/leased residential properties run efficiently, comply the required Health, safety and security standards
• To direct two large teams – the in house security guards plus the estate and technical maintenance team
• To oversee the estate budget in collaboration with the Head of Corporate Services, The Foreign Office in London and the finance/procurement teams in Delhi
Desired skillset:
• Proven experience of running a building/ working in a building management environment
• Leading/line management of teams
• Delivering through others
• Budget/financial planning
• Be able to supervise the work of specialist contractors like NC, Fire Alarm etc.
• Should be aware of UK Health and Safety standards
• Good with use of computers and Windows based systems
• Customer focus and delivery a professional service to internal and external clients
