Executive – Procurement & Logistics (Colombo)

Our client is looking out for a dynamic, capable young individual to join their team to handle the Procurement and Logistics functions for the business.
Key responsibilities:
– Sourcing for Local & international Procurement
– Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers
– Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
– Reviewing and recommend products and services to be purchased
– Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers
– Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures
– Liaising with the Stores team on stock related activities
– Following up with freight forwarders on shipments & ensuring goods as per schedule
Candidate profile:
– Aged below 35 years, with a recognized diploma level qualification in Procurement / Supply Chain
management
– A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar field would be ideal. Exposure to procurement in an engineering field would be an added advantage but not essential
– Ability to grasp knowledge of products & maintain rapport with suppliers
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office
– Strong communication and negotiation skills
– Good analytical and strategic thinking skills
– Attention to detail
