Executive Pastry Chef
Selected candidate is responsible for the daily preparation of the required quantities of all pastries, pastry curries, bread, and baked items for a chain of restaurants and banquet operations. The candidate must be creative with his product creations and continually research and test new and different recipes to ensure that customers enjoy an exceptional dining experience.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee preparation of all pastries, curries, breads, baked products required for restaurants and specialty orders.
• Ensure taste, appearance and quality of products is maintained at all times.
• Prepare items in accordance with established portion and presentation standards.
• Ensure production targets are delivered on time.
• Maintain accurate inventory of ingredients whilst achieving cost efficiency of the department.
• Develop recipes and introduce new products.
• Maintain exceptional health, safety and sanitation standards.
Requirements:
• Degree in Pastry Arts
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position with an emphasis on commercial production
• Culinary expertise and experience to make a wide variety of pastries, breads and baked items
• Must understand subtleties of flavor pairings and different tastes, and have a good aesthetic sense for food and pastry presentation
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
• Ability to work in a team environment calmly and effectively under pressure
