Accountant (Colombo)

Responsibilities:
– Preparation of Financial Statements and schedules in accordance with accounting standards and procedures.
– Ensure that the Company’s statutory/regulatory obligations are complied with.
– Preparation of Management Accounts.
– Credit control – Dealing with Customers and following up on payments.
– Handling Bank Reconciliation.
– Oversee the handling of Petty Cash.
– Liaise with external parties such as Auditors, Banks, Company Secretaries, and Shipping Agents.
The ideal candidate should:
– Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity within the Shipping industry.
– Be part qualified in either CA – SL or ACCA (At least 2nd level of CASL).
– Have ERP exposure (Knowledge/ experience in Gensoft will be an added advantage).
– Ideally be between 30- 45 years of age.
– Have strong leadership skills and the ability to navigate organization dynamics and influence others to provide positive results.
– Have good experience in computerized accounting and knowledge in MS Office packages, such as Advanced Excel, Word etc.
– Have strong analytical. interpersonal & communication skills enabling interaction with all levels of Management and subordinates
