Reporting Officer

Location: Based in Kilinochchi with frequent travel to the field sites

Job Profile:

The purpose of this position is to support the documenting progress and compiling reports of all projects in the Northern District. It will be focused on compiling and analysing reports prepared by relevant staff and to help staff to implement the Monitoring 8: Evaluation plan, regularly revising and updating performance questions, indicators, methods, formats and analytical processes and supporting the operational monitoring in the field. The Reporting Officer will carry out reporting duties as per the agreed upon reporting formats and systems to ensure timely and quality reporting.

Support to staff in this function may include: additional training in reporting ormats, assistance with drawing data together from different sources.

He/she will also be responsible for:

– Writing and compiling of timely and quality reports and project documentation
– Responsive reporting to all programmes
– Effective grasp of whole northern Area Rehabilitation Programme (ARP) and flexibility and aptitude to work across multiple projects
– Effective time management and adherence to deadlines

Education. Knowledge and Experience:

– Diploma or Degree in development studies or related field
– 3 years work experience in managing/ leading similar activities
– Demonstrated experience in report writing
– A good operational knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and internet tools
– Highly organized, efficient and able to meet key deadlines
– Excellent presentation and communication skills
– Fluent in the district local language and English (written and spoken)
– Facilitation and training skills
– Having knowledge of humanitarian programming in transitioning contexts would be an added advantage
– Good knowledge and experience of Monitoring and Evaluation
– Good communication and organization skills
