Driver

Main Responsibilities:

– Provide reliable and safe driving services by driving official vehicle for Country Head, staff and visitors, ensuring the highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues.
– Safe transport of visitors, meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport including visa and
custom formalities arrangements when required.
– Ensures delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items as per the requirements of company.
– Proper use of vehicle, accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs and provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
– Ensures proper day-today maintenance of the vehicle, and ensure cleanliness and good running condition of vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes and water levels, washing etc.
– Ensures proper use of vehicle maintenance plans and assistance in preparing vehicle history report.
– Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle registration, and office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit and necessary spare parts in the vehicle.
– Keeps track of insurance and other tax formalities.
– Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of an accident.
– When necessary translates in local language for the Country Head of the office and/or official personnel using the car.

Candidate Requirement

– Minimum 5 years of driving experience.
– Able to converse in English and fluent in Sinhala.
– Knowledge of local roads and traffic rules and regulations.
– Good interpersonal and communication skills to handle all levels of people from within organization and external parties which include consultants, contractors as well as government officids.
– Ability to deal effectively and patiently with others.
– Ability to operate a car or SUV
– Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
– Employee must possess a valid driver’s license issued by Department of Motor Vehicles for car/ SUV.
– Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment medical test, as well as drug and alcohol tests whenever required.
– Must be presentable.
– Non alcoholic and nonsmoker will be preferred.
– Demonstrate a client oriented approach, courtesy, confidentiality, tact, and ability to work with people with different national and cultural backgrounds.
