Osmium is looking for an UI/Front-End Engineer
In this role you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and evolving reusable UI patterns and rich web user interfaces. You will define standards and implement best practices as it relates to UI design and front-end coding practices. Given that this is a new user interface, a candidate for this role must have the ability and comfort level designing and developing from scratch.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with front-end JavaScript frameworks (i.e. AngularJS, Knockout, Backbone, Ember, etc.), HTML5, CSS, and related technologies such as JQuery, JSON, AJAX, Bootstrap, Dojo, LESS. The back-end web technology is enabled by .NET and uses the MVC framework while the front-end MVC framework relies upon AngularJS.
Candidates must have a solid understanding of SPA reliant upon AngularJS (or similar framework like Ember). Application programming experience (especially using the MVC pattern) is a big plus.
Coming in, here’s what is required:
– 3+ years of relevant work experience with a concentration in front-end development and demonstrated history of Ul/UX sensibilities.
– 2+ years AngularJS (or Knockout, Backbone, Ember) experience.
– 3+ years of client side JavaScript experience.
– 3+ years of CSS experience.
– 2+ years of HTML5 experience (a big plus, but not required)…
– Strong understanding of web design best practices, usability patterns, and latest Ul/UX trends.
– Ability to take a lead role in building and enhancing of Quaero’s UI/Front-End best practices. – Experience with the software development life-cycle (SDLC) and principles of product development such as installation, upgrade and namespace management.
– Willingness to mentor team members.
– Solid analytical, technical and problem solving skills.
– Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with internal product development team.
– Demonstrates an aggressive curiosity.
– Understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
