General Description:
The Factory Manager is responsible for general supervision of all phases of factory operations including: production, quality control, maintenance. Responsibilities also include recruiting, hiring and training personnel and facility/physical factory up-keep and capital improvements. In addition he will be responsible for annual budget planning and execution. They will work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability within the manufacturing operation. This person must be trained and have at least 10 years of experience including best practices in both managerial and production platforms.

* Meet Performance Review objectives.
* Deliver Operations projects on-time, in-budget and to-specification.
* Create and deliver Manufacturing plan to Budget.
* Create and implement Facilities to meet business requirements.
* Support maintenance & development of ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System.
Key Tasks
• To manage all factory-related affairs which include Health and Safety, manufacturing, maintenance, Employee training & development and machinery upgrades.
• Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility.
• Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.
• To ensure that products manufactured meet the required quality standards.
• Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
• Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.
• Develop and execute the plant manufacturing budgets.
• Coordinate the hiring and training of manufacturing personnel.
• Ensure all members of the manufacturing team receive sufficient information, instruction and training to perform their roles safely and without risks to health.
• Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees.
• Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.
• Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.
• Communicate with research and development as well as product management personnel to develop new product strategies.
• To manage the maintenance department and implement preventative maintenance for the efficient running of all machines and minimum maintenance downtime.
• To ensure safe working conditions are maintained in the factory at all times.
• To keep regular interaction with the workers, and encourage them to participate in the overall health & safety requirements and process improvements.
• To coordinate with the supply chain and customer service departments on production planning, RM availability and stock control.
• To create process mapping for all manufacturing activities and continuously look for ways to improve the productivity by eliminating waste.
• To continuously evaluate factory workers, recommend laying-off/promotions, increments and incentives to the General Manager.
• To prepare monthly production reports.

Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or diploma in Polymer Science
Additional Comments: Preferred qualifications: Masters degree, Six Sigma training will be an added advantage.
