System Administrator (Colombo)

We are looking for a System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks.
You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly as well as should have the patience to
communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.
THE ROLE & BASIC FUNCTIONS
– Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server
resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying
completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
– Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are
successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
– Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
– Flexibility for on call and occasional off hours based on critical system outages, upgrades and other
requirements.
– Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted
constituencies.
– Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
– Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
– Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
– Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
YOUR PROFILE
Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 2 year experience in hospitality industry.
Knowledge with POS/PMS is required.
Knowledge of CCTV and PABX will be an added advantage.
