Senior Software Engineer for Open-Source Java CMS Development
Intervest is a software development venture with the businesses in Europe and in—source development centre in Sri Lanka. We specialise in the development of multi—product, multi-currency e-Commerce platforms for insurance, travel and financial services industries.
We currently use Liferay, an open-source Java CMS, for which we need a Senior Software Engineer with experience in open-source Java development to customize the CMS core.
This position is full-time and based at our office in Colombo.
Role:
– Develop robust, efficient and secure software products
– Deliver components to project time lines
– Complete enhancements as on—going development to a range of Java applications
– Requirement analysis, design, coding and testing Java technologies
– Develop creative, innovative and practical solutions
– Produce high quality, clear and maintainable code
– Guide and monitor junior developers
– Work in a team—based environment across time zones
Skills:
– Experience in open-source Java projects is required
– Fundamental knowledge in algorithms, data structures, databases, software engineering
– Strong in Java EE APIs including EJBs, Servlets, JSPs and web services
– Experience in HTML, JavaScript and Ajax
– Professional exposure to Spring MVC, Hibernate, JMS, ANT and Maven
– Software testing and quality assurance
– Experience in Linux/ Unix, JBOSS, Tomcat, Oracle, git
– Experience in fundamentals in security and development of secure software
– Team work and leadership skills
– Excellent communication skills in English
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is a must
– Minimum 3 years’ experience
Salary: Negotiable, based on skills and experience.
