Job Role:

An Internal Auditor should have the ability, high Integrity and the courage to manage different situations effectively
whilst interacting with all areas of the business and maintaining good relationships in order to deliver as per the
responsibilities assigned. He/she will report to the CEO and also the Audit Committee based on work assigned.

Responsibilities will include:

– Conducting Internal Control evaluation and risk assessment to identify loopholes and areas requiring management intervention to prevent frauds, embezzlements, misappropriations, misuse and wastage and ensuring that objectives of the organisation are achieved economically, efficiently and “Are you an effectively
– Preparing an Annual Internal Audit Plan based on risk assessment including tasks, assignments and timelines for completion for each task and main activities, personnel to be employed, and reporting results of audit
– Preparing special reports when asked for by the management on various aspects of financial management, including asset management and security, financial reporting, decision support systems, management Information systems.
– Assisting the company in engaging an independent chartered accounting firm to assess internal controls over contract management, payments, and review of procurements etc. when required

Profile:

– An Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants — Sri Lanka (ACA)with a minimum of 5 years internal audit experience in the retail industry will be ideal
– Objective, logical and enquiring mind
– Strong analytical skills & excellent communication skills
– Good project management and team working ability
– Professional ethics: Promotes and applies professional ethics
– Commitment to gaining professional qualifications and ongoing self-development
– Business acumen: Maintains expertise of the business environment, industry practices, and specific organisational factors
