Following vacancies are existing in a state of the art apparel manufacturing unit managed by Nor Lanka located in Trincomalee.

IE Executive

Job Summary

The work study officer ensures a high level of productivity in the assigned area through the application of industrial engineering techniques.

Primary ditties and responsibilities:

• Ensure approved sewing techniques which are reviewed during sampling stage are effectively followed in the production.
• Coordinate with maintenance department to ensure machines are available and being prepared for the bulk production on a timely manner.
• Feeding lines on new styles and ensure to achieve set line feeding efficiencies and help to achieve set production targets.
• Make capacity report in order to balance production lines.
• Work interactively with production, technical and quality teams to achieve set targets.
• Compute thread consumption and ensure optimal use of threads and prepare post order thread reconciliation sheet.
• Identifying future skill requirements of machine operators for new styles and plan the required skill upgrading in consultation with production team.
• Maintaining the skill inventory of sewing lines in optimum level.
• Categories machine operators based on the operator grading guide lines.

Personal Specification:

• A/L qualified together with the Work Study related course from the recognized institute
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in the same capacity in the apparel industry.
• Preference will be given to those who are living in close proximity to our factories
• Should be a self starter who can work with minimum supervision.
