Senior Systems Engineer – IT Infrastructure

JOB ROLE:
– Install servers, appliances, switches, storages or any relevant nodes within data centres.
– Manage data centre infrastructure aligned with industry standards and conduct periodic inspections for hardware faults / breaches in standards.
– Install standard / customized operating systems, packages and software on applicable hardware.
– Integrate various systems by ensuring ultimate business requirements and perform periodic system/firmware upgrades by applying patches.
– Implement availability of mechanisms for services with aligned to business and disaster recovery.
– Configure monitoring tools to on-board various services in capturing application performance metrics.
– Deploy automated programs to neutralize system faults in accordance with appropriate logics.
– Provide infrastructure operational support for all the internal stakeholders to meet business goals.
– Train, guide or consult stakeholders regarding systems / infrastructure dependencies / maintaining standards wherever applicable.
– Design systems / solutions in a most viable and consistent manner.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
– Candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent from recognized university / institute.
– Minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience in Systems Engineering in a reputed technology firm.
– Hands on experience in data center operations including hardware implementation, network connectivity and documentation.
– Experience in operating systems such as Linux, Windows and specifically Solaris are required.
– Prior experience in administration of enterprise storage systems and Storage Area Networks will be advantageous.
– Experience in backup technologies such as Veritas Netbackup and Commvault; virtualization technologies including vmware, OVM and Solaris will be added advantages.
– Interpersonal and communication skills to be used in a contemporary organizational setup.
