Job Description:
– He must have manual dexterity and precision skills to work with a variety of lenses as well as good eye-hand coordination.
– A solid understanding of optical theory, a knowledge of the process involved in producing lenses and basic computer skills are desirable attributes.
– He must be able to read and distinguish many different prescriptions and be able to work effectively on an independent basis.
– He must have good communication skills and the ability to work with many different optical professionals.
– The optical engineer will be responsible for assisting in the production different types of lenses according to certain specifications as indicated on prescriptions.
– He obtains the prescription and finds blanks for lenses and determines the necessary calculations to grind the lenses according to the specified conditions.
– He uses meters to examine completed products and applies protective coatings before the lenses are shaped.
– He will use a variety of apparatuses, including small hand tools, equipment for measuring lenses and computer-based equipment
Experience : 1 – 5 years
