Project Officer — Plantation Sector Programs
International Institute of Development Training (Pvt) Ltd is engaged in Training, Social Research, Consultancy and Community Development / Project Management Services. IIDT has successfully completed two phases of ‘Upliftment of the Living, Social and Economic Conditions of Plantation Workers and their families’ funded by an INGO in France and extended to 5 new plantations in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya Districts. IIDT is focusing on a wide range of socio economic development projects and looking for an individual with relevant skills and passion to help plantation communities.
Job Description:
Project Officer (PO) will be based in Colombo and be mainly in charge of projects related to education, children, women, elders, differently-able and report to Project Coordinator.
– Visit project locations on a regular basis for project monitoring and support activities.
– PO will coordinate with field-based mobilizers and communicate with relevant officers of plantation companies to assure smooth and effective delivery of activities and achievement of results.
Competencies and qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess competencies in results-based project management, project monitoring and reporting and knowledge in participatory approach with 3 year work experience. Experience in working with plantation communities would be a plus.
Candidates with Degree/Diploma in Social Science, Psychology, Community Development or Rural Development and are conversant in Tamil and English Languages are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of MS Office applications is essential
