We are on the lookout for Java Software Engineers – RandD

As a Java Software Engineer- R&D, you will be responsible for delivering a product/application through working in a team and ensuring that the end result meets expected level of technical fit, performance and use of best practices.

We are looking for results driven, creative Individuals who understand business processes, love to program, love technology and have a high level of commitment to their work.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a challenging, dynamic environment and collaborate closely with our teams in New York and Colombo.

Responsibilities of the position will include:

– Evaluating and applying new technologies towards solving business problems
– Conducting research on latest technologies, building proof of concept applications and sample code
– Working with the team to develop applications across the lifecycle from design, development, testing and deployment to user training and support.
– Ensuring the stability, security and availability of applications.
– Creating technical documentation and training materials
– Provide input increasing effectiveness of the application
– Communicating with multiple stakeholders to understand their needs
– Tackle challenging functional and technical problems
– Working in a team and accomplishing group objectives
– Ensuring compliance with relevant company standards and guidelines

Experience, qualifications and requirements:

– A degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institute
– 3+ years of experience in Java
– Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
– Comfortable speaking with members of the business to understand their needs
– Lateral thinking, ability to be creative and innovative, be a proactive and fast learner
– A strong understanding of business software and a demonstrated ability to implement complex business processes
– Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment with unwavering professionalism and high productivity
– Experience with Automated Testing and Agile development will be an added advantage
