Capital Media are the publishers of Echelon, Sri Lanka’s most impactful business and business life-style magazine. We are a fast growing firm and this has created a number of new editorial positions.
Echelon, published monthly, covers in depth Sri Lanka’s most successful businesses, their winning strategies and profiles their leaders in impressive stories. Other key focus areas of coverage are innovation, creativity, governance, luxury and life-style. Great stories are also never limited to words, and our approach includes rich photography, bold graphics and leading edge design.
We have a number of new newsroom positions that carry multiple editorial responsibilities.
Key responsibilities:
■ Cover business, in text, pictures and video.
■ Originate, prepare and publish pages of multimedia news, background, analysis and features to the required specification.
■ Work alongside Echelon colleagues to find creative ways of producing relevant journalism for multiple formats.
■ Find imaginative and original ways to broaden the agenda and play a full part in discussing how best to cover the stories we care about.
Skills and Experience:
■ Journalism skills and good editorial judgement.
■ Ability to produce clean, dear news stories. Understanding of what appeals to audience.
■ Strong digital media skills, including knowledge of social media. Proven knowledge and understanding of factors driving businesses in Sri Lanka.
■ Willingness to learn new skills and a flexible approach.
