Head of UI Engineering

The Head of UI is a leadership position at Leapset. The chosen candidate will manage a highly skilled team of UI Engineers and will be required to liaise closely with the UX team located in the US.

The ideal candidate will have played a similar role in leading Sri Lankan or overseas software company. periodic travel to the US will be required.

Responsibilities:

– Mentor UI team members and introduce them to new techniques. design patterns and user research.
– Ensure all HTML output are quality checked. code reviewed and pixel perfect.
– Define, prioritize and drive UI dellverables and align deliverables to me produa roadmap.
– Support and foster UI practices within the UI team.
– Track and consistently improve the output of the UI team by helping facilitate change.
– Push the creative boundaries and encourage new ways of thinking about UI.
– Communicate effectively with the onsite UX and product teams.
– Hire and mentor UI Engineers.

Qualifications:

– 4+ years experience in a leadership position: 6+ years of Ul engineering and design experience.
– Experience leading teams in an Agile Environment and the ability to thrive in an environment with a high degree of flux.
– Skilled in user experience methods; good analytical and problem solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– Able to deliver under pressure without sacrificing quality.
– Strong technil aptitude: capacity to understand the business and UI consequences of technical decisions.
– Detailed knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript. jQuery and cross-platform browser compliance.
– Solid understanding of UI. UX. design and wire-framing.

BA or BS in design, user experience, human-computer interaction or a related field.
